Films from Mexico, Chile and Brazil to Cannes 2011

 

The Cannes Film Festival announced today the official lineup for its 64th edition in which a handful of Latin American films were included. Mexican film Miss Bala by Gerardo Naranjo, Chilean film Bonsaï by Christian Jiménez, and the Brazilian film Trabalhar cansa, the debut feature by Juliana Rojas and Marcos Dutra were selected for the Un Certain Regard section of the festival, whilst the debut feature Días de gracia by Mexican filmmaker Everardo Gout was selected in the Midnight Screening selection. No Latin American was included in the official selection this year.
