EL ÁNGEL, ROMA, LOS PERROS and A TWELVE-YEAR NIGHT Vie for Spain's Goya Awards

The Spanish Academy of Cinematic Arts and Sciences has announced the nominees for the 33rd edition of the Goya Awards, Spain’s national film awards, which includes films from Argentina, Chile, Mexico and Uruguay vying for the award for Best Ibero-American Film.

The four Latin American nominated films are Argentina’s El Ángel by Luis Ortega, Chile’s Los Perros by Marcela Said, Mexico’s Roma by Alfonso Cuarón, and Uruguay’s A Twelve-Year Night / La noche de 12 años by Álvaro Brechner. Additionally Brechner has nabbed a nomination for Best Screenplay for his historic thriller set during the South American country’s military dictatorship.

The winners of the 33rd edition of the Goya Awards will be announced on a ceremony in Seville on February 2, 2019.
