Austin’s Fantastic Fest—the largest genre film festival in the U.S., specializing in horror, fantasy, sci-fi, action and just plain fantastic movies from all around the world—has unveiled the first titles for its upcoming 15th edition, which includes the North American premiere of the Argentine titles 4x4 and Rock, Paper, and Scissors / Piedra, papel y tijera.
In Mariano Cohn’s thriller 4x4, a 4x4 car becomes the battleground between a brash thief trapped inside and the mysterious man who will do anything to keep him imprisoned. The film marks Cohn’s solo directorial debut (after co-directing four feature films with Gastón Duprat including The Distinguished Citizen and Living Stars) and stars Peter Lanzani (The Clan).
Macarena García Lenzi & Martín Blousson’s Rock, Paper, and Scissors, follows Magdalena, who returns to Argentina to confront her half-siblings about her share of the inheritance. Yet, the stage is set for a family reunion both bloody and brilliant.
The 15th edition of Fantastic Fest will take place September 19 - 26, 2019, in Austin, Texas.
