Peruvian-American Director Victor Nuñez Wins Top Prize at Woodstock with RACHEL HENDRIX

Peruvian-American director Victor Nuñez was the winner of the Gigantic Pictures Award for Best Feature Narrative at the 24th edition of the Woodstock Film Festival for his latest film Rachel Hendrix.

Starring Lori Singer, Catherine Dent, Kim Sandwich, Kersti Bryan, Nuñez’s film is a portrait of a widow, mother, professor and author, Rachel Hendrix, finding her way in life after losing her beloved husband. It is a familiar story, yet one that audiences rarely get the chance to see with such nuance and intimacy.

Nuñez is a member of the founding boards of the Independent Feature Project and the Sundance Film Institute, and currently teaches writing and directing at Florida State University. He is a member of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences and has been making independent movies in Florida for over four decades. His films focus on inner journeys as well as outward actions and invite the audience into an interior space that may initially feel strange but carries within it the possibility of recognition and resolve.

The 24th edition of the Woodstock Film Festival took place September 27 - October 1 in Upstate, New York.
