Arturo Ripstein's DEVIL BETWEEN THE LEGS Will Have its World Premiere at the Toronto Film Festival

The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) has announced the world premiere of Devil Between the Legs / El diablo entre las piernas, the latest from legendary Mexican director-screenwriter duo Arturo Ripstein and Paz Alicia Garcíadiego (Bleak Street) as part of the Masters section at the 44th edition of the Canadian film festival this September.

Geriatric sex and other hazards plaguing aging lovers get a candid, unflinching, and darkly hilarious spin in Devil Between the Legs starring Silvia Pasquel, Alejandro Suárez, and Great Cervantes.

TIFF also announced the premiere of six other Latin American titles in the World Contemporary Showcase section of the festival: the Brazilian film Three Summers by Sandra Kogut will have its world premiere, while the Chilean film Spider by Andrés Wood will have its international premiere. Having their North American Premiere are the Brazilian films Bacurau by K​leber Mendonça Filho and Juliano Dornelles, and The Invisible Life of Eurídice Gusmão​ by Karim Aïnouz, the Guatemalan film La Llorona​ by Jayro Bustamante, and the Mexican film Chicuarotes​ by Gael García Bernal.

The 44th edition of the Toronto International Film Festival will take place September 5 - 15.
