Cannes 2019: Two Argentine Shorts Vie for the Palme d'Or

The Cannes Film Festival continued this morning with announcement for the lineup of is 72n edition. The French festival announced today the 11 short films in their official competition vying for the coveted Palme d’Or, which includes two Argentine productions: Monster God / Monstruo Dios by Agustina San Martín and The Nap / La siesta by Federico Luis Tachella.

The Nap, recently awarded for Best Short Film at the Buenos Aires International Independent Film Festival, tells the story of a girl who wraps her grandmother in a spiral of fantasy that ends up causing amnesia. Monster God is the third short film by San Martín, she has participated at Berlinale’s Talent Campus and has also served as Cinematographer for Nele Wohlatz’s The Future Perfect.

The 72nd edition of the Cannes Film Festival will take place May 14-25 in France.
