The Argentine queer drama One in a Thousand / Las mil y una, the second feature film by director Clarisa Navas, was the winner of the Best Film Award in the international competition at the 21st edition of the Jeonju Film Festival in South Korea.

The film had its world premiere as the opening night screening of the Panorama section at the last edition of the Berlin Film Festival this past February, and was also the winner of a Special Jury Mention at the Toulouse Latin American Film Festival in France this past March. The film was also selected to participate at the Guadalajara and BAFICI film festivals, both of which have been postponed and cancelled, respectively, due to COVID-19.

Set in a community of project houses, One in a Thousand explores themes of deep friendship and sexual awakening. When Iris (17) meets Renata (20), a young woman with a tough past, she feels immediately attracted to her. She must overcome her own fears and struggle with her insecurities in order to experience first love. One in a Thousand offers a story full of tenderness in a hostile environment where desire adapts in the darkness, and gossip can turn into a malicious weapon.
