The Colombian fantasy folk horror film Luz: The Flower of Evil / Luz: La flor del mal is now available in digital platforms and on DVD in North America by the hand of Dark Sky Films in the United States, and by Raven Banner Entertainment in Canada. The debut feature by Juan Diego Escobar Alzate has won several awards at numerous film festivals, including the Best Latin American Film Award at Mexico’s Mórbido Film Festival, the Best Ibero-American, Best Actress, Best Photography, and Best Editing Awards at the Buenos Aires Rojo Sangre Film Festival, and the Best Feature Film and Best Directors Awards at the Horrible Imaginings Film Festival.

The film follows El Señor, the leader of a small cult in the mountains, who one day returns to his village with a child who is purported to be the new messiah. But when only pain and destruction befall the community, El Señor finds himself under attack from his own followers, including his three daughters, whose burgeoning femininity has already caused them to question their faith. Equally mystical and terrifying, in the South American horror film tranquility belies a simmering evil.

Hailed as “essential viewing” (Screen Anarchy), Luz: The Flower of Evil is now available on iTunes, Apple TV, Amazon, Play Station, Microsoft Store, Google Play, Vudu and Fandango Now.
