Executive Produced by Diego Luna, Documentary STATE OF SILENCE Premieres October 17 on Netflix

From director Santiago Maza (Reasonable Doubt), producer Abril López (Things We Dare Not Do) and executive producer Diego Luna (César Chavez, Narcos: México), the documentary State of Silence / Estado de silencio follows the testimonies of four journalists from different states in Mexico (María de Jesús Peters, Juan de Dios García, Marcos Vizcarra, and Jesús Medina) and explores their lives after receiving threats for reporting the truth. The film will premiere on Netflix beginning Thursday, October 17.

State of Silence explores the challenges of freedom of the press in Mexico from the perspective of four journalists who courageously face them. Through their personal accounts and appearances by other well-known media professionals, the risks they face in reporting the truth are addressed.
