Let the Lights Move Away by Javier Favot

Six Latin American films—from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, and Mexico—will compete in the international competition at the 31st edition of the FIDMarseille film festival, which will combine both in-person and online screenings between July 22-26.

The six Latin American titles are the Argentine films Shady River / Río turbio by Tatiana Mazú González and Everything that Is Forgotten in an Instant / Todo lo que se olvida en un instante by Richard Shpuntoff; the Mexican films The Howls / Se escuchan aullidos by Julio Hernández Cordón and Toda la luz que podemos ver by Pablo Escoto Luna; the Brazilian film Pajeú by Pedro Diogenes and the Chilean film Night Shot / Visión Nocturna by Carolina Moscoso.

Additionally, two Latin American films will participate in the First Film competition: the Argentina-Uruguay coproduction Let the Lights Move Away / Deja que las luces se alejen by Javier Favot and the Colombian film Heliconia by Paula Rodríguez Polanco.

The Argentine films Private Fiction / Ficción privada by Andrés Di Tella and Corporate Accountability / Responsabilidad empresarial by Jonathan Perel, and the Brazilian film Yesterday There Were Strange Things in the Sky / Ontem Havia Coisas Estranhas no Céu by Bruno Risas, will also be screened at the festival as out-of-competition titles.

The French film festival has also announced that Brazilian producer Silvia Cruz and the director of the Mexican film festival FICUNAM Michel Lipkes will serve on the international jury, while Argentine producer Violeta Bava will serve in the first film competition.
