Acclaimed filmmaker Lucrecia Martel (Zama) has directed a special collection of 28 audio short stories by famed Argentine authors such as Ricardo Piglia, César Aira, Silvina Ocampo, and Martín Rejtman read by different actors.
The project Audioteca, recorded in 2015, includes the short stories Horse in the Saltflat / Caballo en el salitral by Antonio Di Benedetto read by Marco Antonio Caponi, The Musical Brain / El cerebro musical by Aira read by Fernando Noy, The Pianist / El pianista by Piglia read by Iván Moschner, The House Made of Sugar / La casa de azúcar by Silvina Ocampo read by Cristina Banegas, and Velcro and Me / Velcro y yo by Rejtman read by Fabián Arenillas.
The audio short stories, curated and produced by critic and writer Graciela Speranza, are available in Spanish for free on Spotify. The selected short stories are all written in first person singular or plural, and they all pay particular attention to their setting as a way to invite listeners to visit those places using their imagination.
