Mexican Cinematographer Ángel Goded Dies at 72

Mexican prolific cinematographer Ángel Goded died yesterday at the age of 72 in Mexico City, the Mexican Film Institute has announced. Goded worked in over 50 film productions between 1973 and 2006 along with noted directors such as Arturo Ripstein, Felipe Cazals, Jaime Humberto Hermosillo, and Paul Leduc.

Some of his most acclaimed credits as a cinematographer are Friday, Still Life (1986) by Leduc, for which he received the Ariel Award from the Mexican Academy of Arts and Cinematographic Sciences, Los motivos de Luz (1985) by Felipe Cazals, and The Realm of the Fortune (1986) and Woman of the Port (1991) by Arturo Ripstein. His last work as a director of photography was for Leduc’s 2006 film El cobrador: In God We Trust.
