NALIP Announces Latino Media Festival Awardees

The National Association of Latino Independent Producers (NALIP) has announced the awardees of its upcoming Latino Media Festival, which will take place at the AMC Century City 15 in Los Angeles, September 26 and 27. NALIP is giving out to awards to the year's Best Latin American Film and Director, and Best Latinx Film and Director.

The winner of the award for Best Latin American Film of the Year is the Dominican Oscar candidate Woodpeckers / Carpinteros by José María Cabral, while Mexican filmmaker Amat Escalante (Heli, The Untamed) was named Best Latin American Director.

Miguel Arteta's Beatriz at Dinner starring Salma Hayek was named Best Latinx Film of the Year, and Jamaican-American director Janicza Bravo (Lemon) was selected as winner if of the Best Latinx Filmmaker of the Year.

The Latino Media Festival will feature premieres, workshops, master classes, nightly industry mixers and star-studded awards ceremony to recognize substantial work in entertainment that inspires Latino creatives to continue moving their projects forward in front and behind the camera.
