The San Sebastian Film Festival has announced the first nine titles that will participate in the official competition at its 69th annual edition including two Latin American films: Fever Dream / Distancia de rescate by Peruvian director Claudia Llosa and Camila Comes out Tonight / Camila saldrá esta noche by Argentine director Inés Barrionuevo.

Based on the Argentine novel Distancia de rescate by Samanta Schweblin, the latest film by Llosa (Milk of Sorrow, Aloft) is a suspense drama starring Maria Valverde, Dolores Fonzi, German Palacios, and Guillermo Pfening. The Netflix original shot in Chile tells the story of a young woman that lies in pain, while a boy is questioning her about what happened to her; she is not his mother nor he her son. Together they will unravel a haunting story of broken souls, toxins, looming environmental and spiritual catastrophes, and the ties that bind a parent to a child.

The fourth film by Barrionuevo, Camila Comes Out Tonight tells the story of Camila, who is forced to move to Buenos Aires when her grandmother becomes seriously ill. She leaves behind her friends and a liberal public high school for a traditional private institution. The adolescent's fierce but premature temper is put to the test.

The 69th edition of the San Sebastian Film Festival will take place September 17 - 25 in Spain.
