The Film Society of Lincoln Center announced today the lineup for the Projections section of the 54th New York Film Festival, which includes feature-length and short films by Latin American filmmakers. Projections will see the U.S. premiere of The Human Surge / El auge del humano by Argentinean director Eduardo Williams, the recent winner of the top prize in the 2016 Locarno Film Festival’s Filmmakers of the Present section.
The New York Film Festival will also host the North American premiere of Ghost Children by Brazilian director João Vieira Torres, and the U.S. premiere of Cilaos by Colombian director Camilo Restrepo, Há Terra! by Brazilian director Ana Vaz, Brazilian co-production An Aviation Field / Um Campo de Aviação by Joana Pimenta. Event Horizon by Colombian artist Guillermo Moncayo rounds up the Latin American contingent.
The Projection section of the 54th New York Film Festival will take place October 7-9.
