The Sundance Institute has announced a special webinar in Spanish with Mexican filmmaker Tatiana Huezo titled “Building Cinematic Worlds Across Documentary and Fiction,” and scheduled for Wednesday, July 22 on Sundance’s Co//ab online platform.
Featuring scene breakdowns from her award-winning documentaries The Tiniest Place / El lugar más pequeño and Tempestad, and her much-anticipated, forthcoming fiction feature debut, Noche de fuego, Huezo explores how traditional boundaries in cinematic language can be pushed across disciplines, and how her background in nonfiction gave her unique insight into how to approach her fiction debut. The conversation, followed by a Q&A session, will be moderated by Cinema Tropical’s executive director Carlos A. Gutiérrez. For more information and to register click here.
This webinar is the second in a series of three webinars with leading Latin American filmmakers planned for the summer and will be conducted entirely in Spanish. The first in this series, with the Chilean filmmaker Sebastián Lelio, can be found here.
