The first trailer for the latest M. Night Shyamalan film titled Old premiered this evening as one of the Super Bowl ads. The movie, which is set to be released this July by Universal Pictures, includes superstar Mexican actor Gael García Bernal (Y Tu Mamá También, Coco) along with Thomasin McKenzie, Alex Wolff, and Rufus Sewell, among others.
Inspired by the Pierre Oscar Lévy and Frederik Peeters’ graphic novel Sandcastle, the film is an existential horror story about a group of people who find themselves rapidly aging on a remote beach. Old was shot in the Dominican Republic, and was originally set to release on February 26, but the pandemic delayed the release date.
Indian-born American Shyamalan is a director that has become popular making movies that are known for their supernatural plots and twist endings. Some of his most popular titles are The Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, and Glass.
