THE BOSS Soars at the Argentine Silver Condor Awards

The 64th edition of the Silver Condor Awards were held Monday night. The awards are given by the Association of Film Critics of Argentina to the best national productions of the year. 

First time writer-director Sebastian Schindel’s The Boss: Anatomy of a Crime / El patrón, radiografía de un crimen starring Joaquín Furriel, won the statuette for Best Fiction Film. As well as three other awards including, Best Actor (for Furriel) Best Supporting Actress (Monica Lairana) and Best Makeup (Karina Camporino). In this film Schindel retells the true story of a young farmhand exploited to a murderous breaking point by his boss and master.

The film Eva Doesn’t Sleep / Eva no duerme by Mendoza Pablo Agüero also had a great night taking home five awards, including Best Director. The Clan / El Clan, the other major candidate of the night, ended up with three awards including Best New Actor for Peter Lanzani.

The Condor Award for Best Film was a tie between Matías Lucchesi's Ciencias naturales / Natural Sciences and Juan Martín Hsú's La Salada, while Mariano Nante was the winner of Best Documentary award for his debut feature La calle de los pianistas / The Pianists Street.
