The Film Adaptation of Pedro Lemebel's Novel MY TENDER MATADOR Will Have Its World Premiere at Venice Days

My Tender Matador / Tengo miedo torero by Rodrigo Sepúlveda, the film adaptation of the celebrated novel of the same name by Chilean writer Pedro Lemebel, will have its world premiere at the 16th edition of Venice Days, the independent section of the Venice Film Festival.

Starring Alfredo Castro (The Club) along with an impressive ensemble cast including Mexican actor Leonardo Ortizgris (Güeros), Julieta Zylberberg (Wild Tales), Luis Gnecco (Neruda), Sergio Hernández (Gloria), and Amparo Noguera (A Fantastic Woman), and set in the mid-eighties, My Tender Matador narrates a passionate relationship that flourishes between a lonely, impoverished and elderly transvestite and a young guerrilla among gunshots and boleros during the Pinochet dictatorship.

The 16th edition of Venice Days, screening ten feature films in competition, will take place concurrently with the Venice Film Festival from Sept. 2-12.
