The Sleepwalkers / Los sonámbulos by Paula Hernández leads the nominations for this year’s edition of the Premio Sur Awards presented by the Argentine Academy of Film Arts and Sciences. The film received 14 nominations, followed by Juan José Campanella’s The Weasels’ Tale / El cuento de las comadrejas with 11, Ana García Blaya’s The Good Intentions / Las buenas intenciones with 9, and Sebastián Borensztein’s Heroic Losers / La odisea de los giles with 8. These four films will be competing for the Best Film and Best Director awards.

Starring Érica Rivas (Wild Tales), Luis Ziembrowski (The Boss, Anatomy of a Crime), and Daniel Hendler (The Money Changer), The Sleepwalkers tells the story of Luisa, who’s on edge spending the summer holidays with the extended family at her mother-in-law’s cottage. Long-simmering tensions with her husband are surfacing, and her teenage daughter Ana is sleepwalking naked at night.

In the documentary competition, the four films vying for Best Documentary Film are Iair Said’s Flora no es un canto a la vida, Gabriel Nesci and Mariano Nesci’s Los Knacks: déjame en el pasado, Sofía Mora’s Método Livingston, and Juan Solanas’s Let It Be Law / Que sea Ley.

The winners will be announced in a ceremony, the date has yet to be announced.
