The Venezuelan thriller The Dance / El baile, the debut feature by Rino Arreaza, premieres on digital platforms—including YouTube, Amazon Prime, iTunes, and Vimeo on Demand—tomorrow, Tuesday, October 13 by the hand of 1091 Pictures. Starring Irene Esser (Bolívar), Gabriel Agüero, Stephanie Cardone and Djamil Jassir the film tells the story of a man and a woman that fall in love one summer, only to realize they’ve both been keeping secrets.
The Dance follows Ivanna as she returns to Caracas pretending to be a flamenco dance, with three performances scheduled at a nightclub called ‘The Place’. There she is supposed to meet Vicente and manage to get him emotionally involved with her in order to extract information about his father, the swindler that she has been hired to kill.
Arreaza is a Venezuelan director based in Mexico City. He studied journalism in Venezuela and cinematography in Argentina where he started his career in the film industry doing the cinematography of the independent film Olympia directed by Leo Damario. Later He also worked as first assistant director in Damario’s Palmera. He also worked as director of photography for the documentary film Fuera del aire, which was a hit in Venezuela
