FLIES / MOSCAS
A film by Fernando Eimbcke
(Mexico/Spain, 2026, 99 min. In Spanish with English subtitles)

A hit at the Berlin International Film Festival, Flies, the latest feature from acclaimed Mexican filmmaker Fernando Eimbcke (Duck Season, Olmo), features a remarkable lead performance by celebrated Mexican actress Teresita Sánchez. She stars as Olga, a solitary woman who leads a meticulously ordered life in a sprawling apartment complex, keeping the outside world at a distance. When financial pressures force her to rent out a room to a man who secretly brings along his nine-year-old son, her carefully controlled existence begins to unravel. As an unexpected bond develops between Olga and the boy, she finds herself confronting the emotional connections she has long avoided.

With his signature blend of understated humor, tenderness, and keen observation of everyday life, Eimbcke crafts a deeply moving exploration of loneliness, human connection, and the unexpected ways in which strangers can transform one another’s lives.
