We Are One: A Global Film Festival to Feature Diego Luna, Guillermo del Toro, and Alejandro G. Iñárritu

An initiative headed by Tribeca Enterprises, ‘We Are One: A Global Film Festival’ is set to consist of ten days of virtual programming, featuring over 100 films co-curated by 21 international film festivals including Cannes, Berlin, Rotterdam, Karlovy Vary, and New York. The festival has announced the lineup for the event and will feature Latin American talent and content.

Taking place from May 29 to June 8 and streaming exclusively on YouTube, ‘We Are One’ will feature conversations with Mexican filmmakers Alejandro González Iñárritu and Guillermo del Toro, and Mexican actor Diego Luna. This conversation will be presented by the Guadalajara Film Festival, the only Latin American film festival participating in the event.

The Guadalajara Film Festival will also present the drama Beyond the Mountain / Detrás de la montaña by David R. Romay, winner of the top prize at the 2018 edition of the festival, and the documentary film 45 Days in Harbar / 45 días en Jarbar by César Aréchiga. The Mexican film festival will also present a special short films program screening 32-RBIT by Victor Orozco Ramírez, The Cats by Alejandro Ríos, and Cerulia by Sofía Carrillo, winners of the Best Short Film Award at Guadalajara.

The New York Film Festival will present the work of three Argentine filmmakers — Untitled (Letter to Serra) by Lisandro Alonso, Parsi by Eduardo Williams, and Rosalinda by Matías Piñeiro — and the short film Occidente by Brazilian filmmaker Ana Vaz.

The Cannes Film Festival will present two Argentine films as part of its programming: Monster God / Monstruo dios by Agustina San Martin and The Nap / La siesta by Federico Luis Tachella.
